Reaching the beginning of the new academic year, I am very happy to address you through this new communication channel of the Centre of Theology, Philosophy and Media Theory: a Newsletter. You have probably noticed that the word ‘new’ occurs in the previous sentence many times. This is because our Centre is still relatively young. Hence, wherever we set foot on, it is a new field and terrain. Despite this essential newness of our activities and of our very existence, we have many news to talk about. For example, we hosted two successful international expert seminars in the last year. We organized five interdisciplinary roundtables with talented Czech junior scholars. We welcomed distinguished guests from Cambridge, Glasgow, Chicago and even from South Africa. We attended a number of conferences and presented papers across Europe. Last but not least, we published in internationally recognized journals such as Modern Theology, The Journal for Youth and Theology and other journals (e.g. AUC Theologica). Many new things happened, indeed. Even more new things are about to come. Let me mention just one. In fall 2017, our first junior postdoctoral fellow will arrive in Prague. Details about our new colleagues and their projects at the Centre are, of course, included.
Dear readers, I guess that at this point you might be wandering what ‘new’ the Centre of Theology, Philosophy and Media will bring in the forthcoming semester. I hope you will enjoy this newsletter and, on behalf of the Centre’ staff, I hope to meet you soon.
